WHAT A CLOWN

Clowns can be scary to some folks but clowns have feelings and emotions too! Angry, bad, good, sad, happy, lost and funny.
I found out what happens when you get a bunch of clowns in a building and have them perform the most fantastic theatrical and immersive dance performance I have witnessed.

The audience followed the performers through the dance studios of the Brickhouse Studios building and mingled with the performers as they danced, mimed and acted out scenes playing out their emotions. We wandered through dark and dimly lit halls and stairwells, through living rooms and bars and finally to the largest main dance studio.

The energy was mixed with mystery as there was no dialogue as the clowns ushered us through the different scenes. The performers allowed us to think of our own feelings of being lost, happy and sad and finally joy for me because it was thoroughly unexpected and brilliant to be immersed in the performances.

I was so glad to capture many key moments and none so more than this one of Esme performing a death defying backflip on a Chesterfield sofa no less. Unbelievable skill and confidence to perform it and land it without injury!!!

A fabulous show again from the cast of performers and from the choreographers at Hamilton Theatre Arts. It was a real pleasure to capture the two shows.
