Theatre Alliance successfully ran their outdoor production of The Damn Rebel Bitches in the beautiful Dean Castle courtyard at the weekend. The audience were treated to a fun and energetic performance by the cast who told the women’s story of the ’45 Jacobite Rebellion and I was on hand to capture the highlights.

It was a very atmospheric night with the stage smoke and haze rising up over the castle walls as the sun set and the wonderful stage lighting played its part so well to set the scenes as darkness fell.

It’s unusual for me to be working with daylight and darkness covering a single performance so it was a perfect chance to capture a variety of images for the one show. A brief 5 minute rain shower had me diving for cover in the sound and lighting desk tent which quickly filled up with bedraggled bodies as the heavens opened, but luckily the shower soon blew over and I resumed my patrol of the courtyard.
It was great to bump into a few familiar faces in the audience too as I did my rounds.
There’s “hunners” of photos of the show but for now here’s some from the evening.

If you were in the audience I’m sure you really enjoyed it for both the location and the performance.
From the promo shots to the final show images it has been fantastic working with Stuart and Marlisa and all the cast of Theatre Alliance
Thanks also to East Ayrshire Leisure and the friendly staff at the castle for their chats and cooperation giving me free reign to wander around.
